Living in Boise
Boise is Idaho’s capital and the east end of the Treasure Valley. The city runs from downtown and the North End up into the foothills, south across the Bench, and west toward Garden City and Meridian. The Boise River cuts through the middle of town; Table Rock and the Ridge to Rivers trail system sit above the East End.
Homes and inventory
Housing stock is mixed. Downtown and the North End have older homes, brick bungalows, and some condos. The Bench and west Boise have mid-century and later subdivisions. Foothill neighborhoods above Warm Springs and Cartwright hold larger lots and newer custom homes. Nearby listings often include Garden City, Eagle, and Meridian.
Getting around
I-84 skirts the south side of the city. Vista and Broadway reach the airport. State Street and Hill Road run west toward Eagle. The Greenbelt follows the river from Lucky Peak toward Garden City. Downtown is the main office and entertainment core for the valley.
