Living in Treasure Valley
The Treasure Valley is the I-84 corridor through Ada, Canyon, and Gem counties — Boise, Garden City, Meridian, Eagle, Star, and Emmett on the east and north side of the river, Nampa, Caldwell, Middleton, and Kuna to the west and south. It is the largest housing market on Intermountain MLS and the main employment center for southwest Idaho.
Homes and inventory
Inventory runs from downtown Boise condos and North End bungalows to foothill lots in Eagle, newer subdivisions in Meridian, Kuna, and Star, and larger lots in Emmett and the west valley. Most listings are single-family homes. Townhomes and attached product show up more often closer to Boise and Meridian.
Getting around
I-84 is the east–west spine. Highway 44 (State Street) connects Eagle, Star, Middleton, and Caldwell north of the freeway. Highway 55 runs north from Eagle toward Emmett and McCall. The Boise River Greenbelt and the foothills sit on the Ada County side of the valley.
